Sheikh Ramadhan is the Director of the Center for Sustainable Conflict Resolution and the GNRC Kenya Coordinator. He is an experienced practitioner and trainer in preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE). He has written and developed well-known PCVE training manuals, among them the Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism (BRAVE) manual. He has also provided guidance and consultation on PCVE in relation to Boko Haram in Nigeria. Sheikh Ramadhan heads a number of PCVE projects in Kenya including BRAVE, an intra-faith Muslim movement on preventing and countering violent extremism, the Sheikh’s Response to Radicalization and Violent Extremism (SHARE), Sheikhs and Ulama Against Violent Extremism (SUAVE), the Mandera Triangle Project that involves the shared border towns of Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia, and Deep Dialogue (DD) which works to build trust between religious leaders and security officers. Sheikh Ramadhan also works one-on-one with radicalized individuals to disengage and deradicalize them.
