Ms Seidel is the World Council of Churches (WCC) Children and Climate Programme Lead/Senior Advisor for the WCC-UNICEF partnership. She advocates for the integration of climate solutions into the operations of all organizations that care about children and for the recognition of eco-anxiety as an unintended form of violence against children. Her initiative for climate justice for and with children and youth was awarded the Keeling Curve Prize in 2019. Previously, Ms. Seidel worked for UNICEF in leadership roles in various countries. Additionally, she served as spokesperson for the UN and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in the post-war Balkans and as a journalist for Deutsche Welle TV in Germany. Seidel studied at the Sorbonne, holds a master’s degree in Sociology from the Freie Universität Berlin, and specialized in Educational Science and International Relations at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris.
