My name is Immaculate. I am a 16-year-old from Uganda. My favorite school subject is technology and design because it allows the learner to apply the subject knowledge in real-life situations. In my free time, I love to learn new skills and languages, exercise, and read scientific journals.

Since primary school, I have been advocating for girls’ rights as a member of the children’s parliament. I believe in a society where girls can live to their full potential, safe from child marriage, gender inequality, discrimination, and all forms of gender-based violence. For this, I engage with fellow girls, boys, and community and religious leaders striving to spread messages aimed at changing unfair practices that affect children. I also support girls in making affordable reusable sanitary pads and have carried out hygiene awareness-raising sessions to provide accurate information about menstrual health management.

What interests me the most about the Children’s Advisory Group is that many of the members are activists. It is a platform where we all have the opportunity to air our views and share life-changing goals and ambitions with others to make the world a better place. I am excited to have people listen to my ideas and points of view, to listen to other people’s opinions, to communicate with others about various aspects of life, to interact with everyone at the Forum, and to improve my speaking skills, especially to women and children.
