After more than two decades as International Director of Interreligious Affairs of the American Jewish Committee, Rabbi Rosen took up the position last year as Special Advisor to the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi. Among his honorary positions, he serves as a member of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel’s Commission for Interreligious Relations, International President of Religions for Peace, and Honorary President of the International Council of Christians and Jews. From the time he served as rabbi of the largest Orthodox Jewish congregation in South Africa through his tenure as Chief Rabbi of Ireland (1979 – 1985), and since returning, Rabbi Rosen has worked to promote inter-faith relations, peace, and reconciliation. In 2005, he received a papal Knighthood for his contribution to Jewish-Catholic reconciliation, and in 2010, he was made Commander of the British Empire by the late Queen Elizabeth II for his interfaith work.
