Rev. Keishi Miyamoto, the convenor of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC), is a strong advocate of interfaith cooperation for the well-being of children worldwide. He directs the work of Arigatou International, an international NGO in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Having inherited the spiritual lineage of his father, the late Rev. Takeyasu Miyamoto, he serves as the Spiritual Director of Myochikai, a Buddhist organization in Japan that established Arigatou International to build a better world for children.
Rev. Miyamoto also serves as an International Trustee of Religions for Peace and as a Board Member of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. He served as the 5th Secretary General of the World Conference of Religions for Peace – Japan and is currently an Executive Board Member of the Federation of New Religious Organizations of Japan (Shinshuren), Council Member of the Japanese Association of Religious Organizations (Nishuren), and Advisor of the Religions for Peace Japan
In December 2023, Rev. Keishi Miyamoto received a Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Award from the Government of Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. He is widely recognized for his longstanding and significant contributions to Myochikai’s cultural and peace building activities, and for Arigatou International’s promotion of international cooperation.
