Rev. Michinari Kujo serves as Chief Priest of Meiji Jingu, one of Japan’s largest Shinto shrines, since 2021.
After graduating from Kokugakuin University, he entered the Shinto priesthood in 1992 at Meiji Jingu, and he was appointed Vice Chief Priest in 2016.
He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Standing Committee of the Association of Shinto Shrines. He is currently Honorary President of the Meiji Jingu Sukeikai (Worshipper’s Association), member of the Counselor Committee for the Japan Sumo Association, Council Member of Religions for Peace, Japan, and a member of both the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees of Kokugakuin University.
